"....There is a lovely, quite sinister undertone throughout this album. The perfect album for candlelight on a cold, dark night. Reminiscent of Shinjuku Thief, and early Der Blutharsch, this album is a journey through the unlit corners of the mind. Subtle drums and military marches combine with multiple, distant voices, to form a baleful, maligned rhythm. This album is perfect music to listen to while forming apocalyptic strategy...my favorite kind of music....."

"....The album progressively moves forward with simple melodic drones, subtle transitions in noise and percussions accompanied by creepy samples that may frighten anyone prone to demonic possession....…these are dark territories in a psycho-terror type non-aggressive sense...."
"Phantoms of the S.S. is a project born solely out of the love of militaristic atmospheres and the need to experiment on a greater level than traditional musical endeavors. While much of Phantom's of the S.S.'s music is incredibly bombastic and obviously military-themed, the conclusions do not necessarily make the music itself martial. There are indeed martial tendencies, but overall, this soundtrack is far too avant-garde in nature to be considered pure in its resonance."....."With the new album Rot having been released just last month (Feb. '09), the band seems to have a bright future ahead of them."
"The beautiful part of the three untitled tracks are their simplicity, along with their emotional level. Number one is a small melody, reoccurring time after time with the help of a ceremonial bell and drones. That's how they sound. How the FEEL is a different thing. When I already know what track number 2 holds for me, then the album's opening feels like a journey I do not want to take, into the heart of evil that lies ahead of me.....Phantoms of the SS deliver a powerful document and a great and powerful album, showing a true horror to mankind."
